Fire on the Landscape: Film Screenings

Come join us for a special evening dedicated to spreading awareness about wildfires and the steps you and your community can take to better prepare your homes in the event of a fire.

Wallowa Resources in association with the Oregon State Fire Marshal will be hosting a duel screening of the documentaries The West is Burning and Neighbors Helping Neighbors: The Lostine Firewise Film.

5:00-6:00pm Screening of The West is Burning
A powerful documentary shedding light on forest conditions all over the Western United States.

6:00-6:30pm Break

6:30-7:15pm Premiere of Neighbors Helping Neighbors: The Lostine Firewise Film
A short documentary showcasing the motivations and efforts of the Lostine Firewise Community and the effect they had on reducing their community wildfire risk.

7:15-8:30pm Panel Discussion
Following the screenings, a panel of local landowners and agencies will discuss the impacts of wildfire on local communities and how they can best prepare.

Pizza and beverages will be available for purchase during the event.
