Join us for a community education workshop and tour hosted by the Pine Valley Firewise Community and Northeast Oregon Small Woodlands Association (NEOSWA). This event will include a tour of a local landowner’s property, where we will have the opportunity to learn about forestry, natural resources, and fire-related topics from several speakers.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Film Screening and Panel
Join us for this special screening of Neighbors Helping Neighbors: The Lostine Firewise Film in Baker City!
In 2017, Lostine Canyon was considered the number one priority for ‘Communities at Risk’ of severe wildfire located in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) areas identified by Wallowa County. This short documentary showcases the motivations and efforts of the Lostine Firewise Community and the effect they had on reducing their community wildfire risk.
Fire on the Landscape: Film Screenings
Join us for an evening dedicated to spreading awareness and fostering community spirit. Wallowa Resources invites you to a special screening of "The West is Burning," a powerful documentary shedding light on forest conditions all over the Western United States.
Following this screening, we are thrilled to present the premiere of the short film, "Neighbors Helping Neighbors: The Lostine Canyon Firewise Film." After the premiere, a panel of key players in the Lostine Firewise Community will tell their stories and answer questions from the audience.
Pizza and beverages will be available for purchase during the event.
