Pine Creek Firewise® Community

The Pine Creek community became Firewise® official in 2014 and was the first Firewise® Community in Eastern Oregon. As a result of the community’s efforts, folks belonging to the Firewise® Community survived the Canyon Creek Complex Fire in 2015.

The community stretches from Highway 26 south to the Malheur National Forest Boundary.

Howard Gieger has been the chair but will be turning that over soon as he and Marcia sold their home and are moving closer to town.

We will be holding party for Howard and Marcia to celebrate the Pine Creek community past, present, and future in June.  Everyone is invited!!
