Ritter Firewise® Community
Who are we?
The Ritter community received official Firewise® status in 2016. The community has gathered contact info and created a phone tree for emergencies since there is no cell phone service in this area except in a couple of specific spots. Grant County emergency workers - Sheriff's office, Search and Rescue, Emergency Management, Long Creek ambulance - REALLY appreciate this information!
Ritter Firewise® Community stretches from Hwy 395 west to where the Middle Fork John Day flows into the N. Fork John Day River - about 30 miles. And basically from ridgeline to ridgeline north to south.
The Ritter Community applied and received some funding through SB762 Firewise grants - to be implemented this year!!
